Dr. Georges Otte

Neuropsychiatrist & Clinical Neurophysiologist

Dr. Georges Otte is a neuropsychiatrist, former chief physician at the P.C. Dr. Guislain, head of the Guislain Neurolab and former head of psychogeriatrics. During his career, he specialized in clinical neurophysiology, in particular EMG and EEG in the context of neurological, psychological and psychiatric disorders.

As a basis for a modern and innovative therapeutic approach in clinical neuropsychiatry, a broad open vision, based on current neuroscientific insights into the complex network organization and dynamics of our brain, is needed.

Dr. Otte is therefore an exponent of biological or neurological psychiatry; in other words, psychological and psychiatric disorders are viewed from brain network dysfunctions, which can be treated in various ways (psychology, medication, neuromodulation), but without losing sight of the patient's individual uniqueness.

Dr. Otte is co-founder and chairman of NeuroTope, a think tank where different disciplines such as neurologists, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, neuroscientists and neuromodulation experts come together to exchange knowledge, brainstorm and promote recognition of psychophysiological research in the context of psychological and psychiatric disorders. He is also an active member of the Flemish Association for Psychophysiology (www.psychofysiologie.be).

Within BRAI3N, Dr. Otte is involved in the multidisciplinary discussion, indication and treatment of patients with psychological and psychiatric problems.
