Kim is a clinical psychologist with expertise in chronic pain, stress regulation and psychophysiological dysregulation. After her Master in Psychology (UGent), she specialized in pain problems at AZ Sint-Jan Brugge and studied psychodynamic therapies such as MBT, DIT and STPT.
People with chronic pain, tinnitus, burnout or depression often experience more than physical symptoms; the stress system remains activated, leading to exhaustion and loss of support. Kim helps patients to regulate stress and emotions, to trust their bodies again and to deal better with their complaints.
Psychoeducation plays a key role in this: insight into the nervous system can be a first step towards acceptance and change. From a safe and respectful environment, Kim guides patients in regaining balance and resilience.
